Thank you for posting this sober analysis so quickly after the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. Excuse me for being so presumptuous; CNN is still calling this an "incident" on air.

You actually created some real news value by quoting Biden's "bullseye" remark; as I write this, that story is impossible to find on Google. Try typing the query "biden says put bullseye Trump" on Google's so-called search engine: down the memory hole it goes!

I don't believe this has anything to do with the coarsening of our civil dialogue, and certainly not Trump calling people jerks and losers. That's been happening for sure, but we have a situation where two factions have irreconcilable differences about the constitution (little "c") of this nation They are as irreconcilable as they were in 1860. It's not surprising that blood is spilled.

Ask the store owners who watched their buildings burn during the summer of 2020 by "mostly peaceful protesters."

Our civil society has been decaying for many years. Perhaps 9/11 will be the marker, perhaps 1968, perhaps 1963.

Trump has been beset by internal sabotage by his own DoJ and FBI, two BS impeachments, four federal indictments, two state cvil and criminal indictments, and now an assassination attempt, and bloodied and shaken he pumps his fist in the air and shouts, "Fight! Fight!" That is the silver lining today: we can and will fight.

If someone is “literally” Hitler, will bring about the death democracy, his election will be the last election, and he is a “dictator,” then it is a legitimate act in the mind of a true believer to assassinate him.

Crooks is presumably solely responsible, but the Dems/media sure laid out the logic for him.
