DEI and Palestinian-friendly memes drop the mask
Usually they're more cautious, but this time we get the real story -- and a glimpse at the real motto, "from the river to the gas chamber."
Stories that get buried in the MSM are sometimes the most revealing about what the Left is up to (which is, of course, why they get buried). This one is a gem:
A Colorado high school is facing backlash after its basketball coach reportedly hung up a Palestinian flag during a game against a Jewish school and then refused to shake hands with the opposing coaches.
High school athletics were at one point supposed to be about sportsmanship. Well, gads, that’s so old fashioned.
The story continues (emphasis added):
Attendees at the high school game told Rattiner [a Jewish community representative] that the Palestinian flag was draped over the rafters and the Lotus [High School] coach would not shake hands with opposing coaches at DAT [Denver Academy of the Torah], he said.
“The key issue here is when the coach refuses to engage with a Jewish coach and Jewish students simply because they are Jewish or holding them personally accountable for a conflict started, not by Israel by the way, halfway across the world thousands and thousands of miles away,” Rattiner told The Post.
“Holding Jewish people accountable for the state actions of Israel is a textbook form of antisemitism,” he added.
Rattiner’s flaccid if not idiotic response shows he’s already been successfully bullied, a really bad sign if we are ever to defeat the growing number of latter-day Brownshirts taking root especially in academia. You do not distance yourself from Israel; you embrace it. This is not because Jews or Israelis are better or worse than anyone else. It’s because Israel is (perforce) leading the war for civilization and against barbarism. Those are the stakes. This is not some diplomatic dust-up, and we in America had best realize it while there’s still time.
The better response was, “if Torah Academy students are assumed to stand with the IDF, particularly in light of the October 7 Hamas atrocities, good for them. Israel and the Jewish people, here and abroad, have the right and need to defend themselves. They will do so by any means they can muster. This is not a matter of choice, it’s a matter of existence. We saw the alternative in the Thirties and Forties. We are not going to see it again, not in a high school gym and not anywhere.”
The Lotus coach — who was only identified by CBS Colorado as “Coach O” and is an hourly part-time staffer — was suspended after the game for brandishing the flag, secondary principal of Lotus Ermek Bakyt said.
Notice how the press coverage bends over backward to suggest that the coach wasn’t really a coach but merely a “part time staffer.” And it hides his name.
“As a public charter school, Lotus School for Excellence (LSE) does not encourage or tolerate the display of any political or religious symbols,” he said in an emailed statement.
An assistant coach was also suspended by school leaders, according to Bakyt.
Again, the coach hides himself and is allowed his anonymity. I wonder if this would be true if his name were “Elon Musk.” And it’s not merely some random “political or religious symbol.” It’s a symbol for — let’s say it out loud since the press won’t — the resurgence on the Left of Nazism.
Here’s the kicker:
“As a public school committed to respect, inclusion, and equity, Lotus School for Excellence does not tolerate any form of antisemitism or behavior that undermines our values,” the school leader added.
Yup, the now-in-denial sponsor of refusing to shake hands with Jewish high school players is the leader of a DEI school. And, hardly surprisingly at this point since it’s long since become the Left’s SOP, he lies about what the culture in his institution not only tolerates but feeds.
That’s why this little-reported story is important. It’s not merely a window into the spread of aggressive anti-Semitism; you can just visit Columbia University to find out about that. It’s a window into what the supposedly compassionate world of DEI is actually about. Diversity except if you’re a Jew. Equity except if you’re a white male with a normal job. Inclusion except if you voted for a different candidate last time (say, Donald Trump), in which case you don’t deserve to be included because you don’t think America is a blight on the world and are generally an unwashed wahoo.
These are the people who then accuse you of being a Nazi.
Well put. I agree with every word.
Love the last part of the piece. Spot on analysis as always.
