Joe Biden's steep decline: A tale of two coverups

Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson have written a book called “Original Sin.” It’s about the White House’s coverup of Joe Biden’s steep mental decline in the last years of his presidency.

This coverup has been discussed widely, though I’m sure Tapper and Thompson add some spicy details. Less widely discussed, and in need of more scrutiny, is the mainstream media’s refusal to report on or acknowledge Biden’s decline until after his disastrous debate performance.

Media stalwarts like Tapper and Thompson have a strong interest in writing about Team Biden’s coverup. The more focus they direct at Biden’s inner-circle, the less their own conduct is discussed.

More importantly, the more blame mainstream media types place on Team Biden, the easier it is for them to claim innocence. They can argue (or invite us to infer) that it didn’t report Biden’s decline because his team took great pains to obscure it. If Team Biden had been more honest, left-liberal outlets like the one Tapper works for would have reported the president’s decline.
