Poll: Trump's administration was more successful than Biden's.
And that's enough to give Trump a significant lead.
There’s an old joke, the punchline of which is: “Who you gonna believe, me or your lyin’ eyes?” The 2024 presidential election might be decided by how voters answer this question: “Who you gonna believe, the lyin’ media or your eyes?
This election presents a unique circumstance. The two candidates have served as president, back-to-back. This happened in 1892 when Grover Cleveland squared off against Benjamin Harrison. It happened again in 1912 with William Howard Taft and Theodore Roosevelt. It hasn’t happened since.
The natural way for voters to decide whether to vote for Donald Trump or Joe Biden is to answer this question: Whose presidency was better?
Most voters believe that it was Trump’s. In a new CNN poll, 55 percent of respondents deemed Trump’s first term a “success” with only 44 percent calling it a “failure.” As for Biden, only 39 percent of respondents called his term a “success.” 61 percent called it a “failure.”
Normally, such a result would doom Biden’s candidacy. In this case, it doesn’t. However, it does put his candidacy in considerable jeopardy.
