Paul has an excellent and important post up this morning describing what Republicans stand for, and pointing out that, for by far the most part, it’s the same thing they’ve stood for since Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan.
You nailed it, Bill. Let's hope that enough of us can move in that direction that we can bring a strong candidate (without the ton of baggage) to move us forward and away from the disaster of Biden.
I vote Republican in self defense. I will side with pretty much anyone that wants to oppose communists. Democrats don’t, so I don’t vote for them. Yes, even if, lacking all other options, the best person for the job is a mean-tweeting, womanizing, obnoxious bad orange real estate developer and game show host from New York, I will vote for him so that I don’t get 87,000 IRS agents breathing down my neck.
If Trump is the GOP nominee in 2024, I’ll vote for divided government: all GOP down ballot and third party or no vote at all for president. It’s a second best solution, but in an imperfect world, second best solutions are sometimes the best option.
Bill's best post yet
We need good governance, not good slogans. That's Trump.

But, if you want divided government, your intention doesn’t reflect that. You should vote for the Democrat for President. Vote like you mean it.
