Mainstream Media Law #1: If a Republican does something, it is stupid and futile. If a Democrat does the same thing, and does it even more than a Republican, it is brilliant, strategic, and purposeful.
As a former NJ resident, years ago Cory Booker completely dashed any hope I had that he would be a voice of reason and sensibleness and someone who would attempt to achieve meaningful compromise on important legislation. Instead, his only claim to fame is that he is less imbecilic and less radical than many of his Democratic Senate colleagues .
Thanks for the comment. Since I wrote the post, I learned that Frank Luntz believes Booker's speech has elevated him to the head of the 2028 presidential nominee pack. Luntz listened to parts of the speech (not the whole thing, surely) and believes Booker has a winning message.
I listened to none of the speech but agree with Luntz that Booker is good at this sort of thing. And I agree with your comment.
One of the biggest phonies ever, beating a lot of competition.
Booker is the classic empty suit; endless stream of Demo talking points and cliches. Silly and pointless grandstanding.
