You may recall how giddy Democrats and their media friends were this summer when the Jan. 6 committee trained its guns on Ginni Thomas. The focus on Mrs. Thomas, they hoped, would lead to a double-play — taking down a prominent conservative activist and embarrassing (at a minimum) her conservative Supreme Court Justice husband in the process.
The one thing I would add to Paul's astute observations is that what this is actually about is the campaign to smear Justice Thomas hopefully to the point of driving him off the Court. That effort with respect to Justice Kavanaugh was at least more direct (attempted assassination). The Left might have residual qualms about actually murdering America's second black Justice, but making him and his family feel threatened and harassed to the point that the Justice would leave public life is right in their wheelhouse. But it won't work -- the Justice and Ginni are made of sterner stuff. The Lefties would know this is they'd been paying attention starting a bit more than 30 years ago, but they might have become distracted of late by trying to figure out everyone's "right" Woke pronouns.
