Bravo. Thank you for your moral clarity and intrepid honesty. The “Brownshirts” description is most appropriate.

The most powerful of the many columns you have written. One which is worth remembering in the days and and months to come as some people try to put this deed “in context” and countries push unilateral disarmament

Great column, Bill. Living nearby does make a difference, does it not? It shouldn't, but it does.

But even from afar, for all the places I've lived, I've never seen anything in my lifetime in the US like the organized anti-semitism that festers almost exclusively at our university campuses.

I, too, would like to know more about the assassin and his motives or madness. Early reports associated him with Antifa/Portland (the Green/Red alliance). But if you ask Google, even Gemini AI cannot offer anything about his background.

I don't know what its going to take to wake the normal people of this country up. We are at war with this insidious meshing of Marxism and Islam. It's an alliance built in hell.

May 22, 2025 The Commentary Magazine Podcast

Noah Rothman joins the podcast this morning to talk about the horrors in DC last night and how they connect to the increasing embrace of violence on the left after 2015—which accelerated after the George Floyd killing and is now manifesting itself not only in the assassination of a health-care executive by new radical folk hero Luigi Mangione but now in the deliberate targeting of a Jewish event at a Jewish site by a berserk far leftist

18 U.S. Code 2331 defines terms used in Title 18, particularly in the context of terrorism. It outlines definitions for terms like "international terrorism," "domestic terrorism," and "act of war," among others. The section was last updated on January 1, 2024

"Brownshirts" is an apt descriptor; if anything perhaps a bit of an understatement. Our modern-day, elite universities, where rage, intolerance, and moral depravity thrives and flourishes. What a sad state of affairs...

"Yes, “college campuses.” Which campuses, one might ask. The answer is, by now, too familiar. Columbia perhaps first comes to mind, see, e.g., here and here, but Columbia, top-of-the-line as it is (or was), is not America’s foremost university. That, despite some recent lagging ratings, would be Harvard."

A Bit Off Topic

Pre WWII Fascism & Eugenics were very popular in Intellectual circles ("Liberal Fascism Enlighten Nazism HG Wells) (Inequality, Eugenics, and Envy Thomas Sowell) But by May of 1945 A Lot of people were spending A Lot Of Time pretending they were always opposed to this. I'm wondering this will happen with DEI/CRT/etc etc etc?
