To me, the interesting question isn't whether these hearings will have an impact on the midterms (they won't, as I indicated in my earlier post on the subject). The interesting question, in addition to whether Trump will be prosecuted (he shouldn't be), is whether Republicans in SouthCentralPA, the heartland, and elsewhere are still determined to ride with Trump in 2024 or whether they will strongly consider backing an alternative candidate like Ron DeSantis.

The heartland cares about inflation and their 401Ks, not this diversion.

You can probably count the number of midterm votes this will change on one hand. All other commentary is superfluous.

The phrase "Inside the Beltway" gets overused, but I think this is one case where it can be useful. Inside the Beltway, I'm sure the only real difference between the Obama and Trump years was the anti-Trump screeching. Out here, especially in the sort of areas that propelled Trump to the Presidency, the difference was night and day. Things were so much better for the ordinary working person. For the most part, these were the people who came to DC on 06Jan.

There were a few crazies, but the overwhelming majority were people who were upset that they'd lost their voice. Crowd psychology being what it was, some were drawn into doing stuff they would never have done ordinarily and that they didn't go there to do. There were clearly provocateurs. Examine this carefully https://www.revolver.news/2021/12/damning-new-details-massive-web-unindicted-operators-january-6/ The tone gets a little over the top, but all the footage is from the day of, and it makes use of many anti-Trump resources like jan6attack.com. One gets the general sense that if any of the now-unindicted provocateurs had anything whatsoever with Trump, they would already have been hanged (and yes, literally, hanged). Why is the figure known as NWScaffoldCommander unidentified and walking the streets?

Anyway, have respected (if not always liked) the new substack, and keep up the good work, gentlemen...
