Wise advice. Hope he listens and acts accordingly. I think he can still be direct and forceful, but he must temper his impulse to go into barroom brawl mode and turn off many of the non-base voters he MUST have to win. Undoubtedly, the moderators and Biden will bait him into going in that direction.

Great advice but I have to observe the biggest question about this debate is as why Trump agreed to it. It seems to me that there are two likely outcomes both of which are bad for Trump: 1) thru focused preparation; rest; probably some type of medication; CNN favoritism—Biden doesn’t appear to be a doddering old man or 2) despite all those things, he looks horrible and the Democrats finally push him of the ticket.

Am I wrong? I suppose it could be enough to create a fight at the convention but Biden still gets the nomination. In any case probably bad outcomes for Trump. Why Trump is doing this I just can’t understand.

My guess is that Trump thinks he can't lose. My other guess is that Biden's hold on the Party is too strong. Who's going to push him out of the nomination? They don't have another obvious candidate except Harris, and she would likely lose by more than Joe will.

That doesn't explain why Trump agreed to an unprecedented debate in June.

I agree with all your suggestions except the last. He should not make ANY references to Biden's age nor attack him personally in any way. First it makes him look small and mean. More importantly the entire country knows he's old too old to be president. This would be true if his term resembled that of George Washington. There is no need for Trump to pile on. Democrats have made their peace with a senile incompetent president. It's horrific to contemplate but they don't care. The people in the middle are trying to decide between two terrible alternatives (in their minds). Trump's entire performance must be geared towards letting them be comfortable that he is the lesser bad alternative. Getting personal or making mean jokes doesn't help with that.

I don't intend for the question about ambassadors to be a joke or a personal crack. There are still plenty of people in denial about the extent of Biden's decline, which is a legitimate and important issue in this election. The question is designed to bring home the point in a way that will no longer be capable of being denied. His handlers will have Biden prepped, but he won't be ready for that one. It's useful for the country to see what the Democrats want as the leader of the Free World. I propose nothing more than to show it to them -- and everyone else. I concede that the answer is ugly, but it will get a great deal uglier if Biden wins in November.

I know you don't intend it to be that way but I think it will be seen that way. Anyway otherwise I agree. But what do you think are the odds this all happens?

Marginally higher than the odds that I'll be attending the Hamas Appreciation Day rally.

Sounds about right.
