I think we underestimate the power of the main stream media. They push the narrative that the non political person believes is the normal way of thinking.
Your last paragraph is smack on. We finally have an opportunity to push back against the outrageous growing radicalism of the leftist project and somehow the only choice we seem to have is a deranged narcissist who is passionately hated by literally 55 to 65 percent of the country and idolized (in the literal sense) by perhaps 35 percent. It's like someone up above is laughing at us.
"idolized (in the literal sense) by perhaps 35 percent."
I'm gonna have to ask for sources, on that. Yes there are (what I call) Ever Trumpers, think of them as to opposite of Never Trump. Yes they make a lot of noise, (much like the Never Trump on The Left. 35%, as someone who is a little to the right of Attila The Hun, I'm questioning that.
Well I admit I estimated based on every poll I've seen that shows him dominating the Republican party through and through. What percentage do you think it is?
Oh yes he does dominate, that's not what I was talking about. that would be "35% Idolize him." Idolize? Even his strongest supporters don't do THAT. Well MAYBE a couple do, you're gonna find some weirdos in any group of people.
For The Record 'm a 70% Trumper. I like about 7 0ut of ten things he did an says. I've been following Presidents since Nixon v Kennedy. 70% is a good as I've seen.
As far as I can see his followers have formed a literal cult of personality around him. Maybe you haven't interacted with them. They are out there believe it. They would rather Biden win than turn on him. I honestly don't know what the percentage is but I know it's enough to allow him to run away with the Republican nomination despite being the only candidate who could possibly lose to Biden.
"the only candidate who could possibly lose to Biden"
1. I've seen Polls that show Large numbers of voters don't want Either Biden or Trump. I remember the same thing being said in 2016.
2. What makes you think Biden will be The Democratic Party candidate? I suspect shorty before the convention Grand Pa Joe will drop out (ie forced out) and someone else will take his place. Who that is, I don't know, their bench is Real Weak.
Good Morning. its an "invigorating" -5 OTOH, its Mn., its January, it's suppose to do this.
Being on the (hard) right its impossible to avoid Trump Supporters, and interacting with them.
"They would rather Biden win than turn on him."
i see the same thing with DeSantis supporters (You can find them at The Right Scoop .https://therightscoop.com/ Both sides SAY that. Those that would Really Do that starts around .01%.
I think if Trump were to lose the nomination or otherwise not be the candidate a significant chunk would not vote. The mere fact that they continue to prefer him to other candidates without his baggage who are much more likely to win demonstrates a cult of personality that defies rationality. I dont know about DeSantis supporters.
